Tutors, by definition, are private coaches for students.

Coaches and tutors have one simple goal and that is to help people.

So for the purposes of this website, we will simply use the generic term ‘coach’ on all pages for descriptions, text and listings.

Tutors can be an elusive bunch; they don’t usually market themselves very well. With the exception of tacking flyers up on bulletin boards or hearsay through someone who used there services or knows them.

Tutors registered with the Coaches Alliance have the option of declaring themselves to be tutors or coaches in their Membership Registration, so you will be able to search and locate ‘tutors’ specifically.

Tutors are sometimes retired teachers, or students who are exceptionally talented in a specific subject. While not ‘professionals’ students will still expect to be paid for their work, so choose carefully and ask for references. Letters from teachers are your best indication of a student’s ability to tutor.

We encourage visitors who are searching our database for a coach or tutor to enter the specific term and narrow their search to locate exactly the person they are seeking.

Tutors will usually also include a specialty in their profile, so please enter appropriate terms to narrow your search. (i.e. Tutor, math, algebra - would be great keywords to define your search.
